SAW: Cutting-edge stuff...

Welcome to Confessions!

I'd like to start my blog by discussing the all-new rollercoaster that has been much discussed recently. The first of its kind, based on one of the most successful horror series to date, it is designed around the theme of the Horror series: SAW.

Now, as a fan of Horror and the series myself, I am excited about experiencing this ride for myself, much to the disgust of many of my friends who just can't seem to see the appeal! Check out the link which tells you more about the ride itself http://www.thorpepark.com/rides-saw.php

With the current rise of 'horror porn' as its been described, I have to say that SAW does have a sharp story to it. The recent indecencies of 'The Strangers,' 'Haunting in Connecticut,' 'Quarantine,' 'Mirrors,' and the list continues... are all-too similar in their content. Blood, gore, lack of plot, and oh yeah did I mention gore. I know, I know, that's what a horror film should be all about you may be thinking...

But that's where the SAW series is somewhat different. 'Yes, there will be blood,' as Jigsaw so eloquently put it, and yes there is gore, BUT there seems to be a shred of an actual plot about it. It's clever, twists around every corner, and don't tell me that you didn't gasp in your seat with sheer shock at the end of SAW.

There, my rant of SAW is over, but feel free to let me know your views, because I have lots more to say!
